| Comments: | Using field paths, tracks and lanes the leader took her group to view Buckshaw Village and surrounding areas from an artificial mound, which it is said buries the debris of a former ammunition factory. Twenty- three people took part in the Leisurely Walk whist nine people took part a three- mile walk in close proximity to The Top Locks pub which was the start point of the walks and the venue for lunch. There was good service and plenty of food on one’s plate. N.B. One of the footpaths passes through a tunnel under the M61 Motorway, and because of a lack of light, torches were required. |
