| Comments: | Two walks took place from the same venue. A small group of a more senior OAPs did a less strenuous walk whilst the main group of nineteen ascended a total of 850 feet. Leaving the Petre Arms the main group went via Myton Fold Golf Club to ascend Doctors Rake in order to reach Dean Clough Reservoir. Having viewed Dean Clough, the group then took a gentle ascent and passed through a wood to arrive at Black Hill. After a short road walk the group descended via Hillocks to return, by Higher Elker, to the Petre Arms. Many views could be seen, including Pendle Hill in Lancashire and Ingleborough in Yorkshire. The Petre Arms offered good food and service. |
