| Comments: | 12 walkers. The walk took in various former industrial/mining areas where nature and the local council have ensured that much of the past now lies buried or is hidden by trees. A significant part of the walk was in woods and under deciduous trees. |

Weir and salmon leap on the Yarrow
We stopped to read the information board about the salmon, but did not see any salmon
Heading towards the site of the former Ellerbeck Colliery
Pit Boys at Ellerbeck Colliery. At one time there were 1,000 workers above and below ground
When we reached the Leeds to Liverpool Canal at Heath Charnock we were reminded that this stretch of the the canal up to Gargrave is due to close down soon because of the drought

As we had not left Lancashire at any stage of the walk we were puzzled
to find this sign as we approached Duxbury along the canal
Duxbury in the 1840s. The hall was demolished 60 years ago
but the park and woods remain to be enjoyed
