This pleasant circular walk commenced near to the Smiths Arms (known locally as The Slip, as in Slip In and have one) and used Lea Lane to reach the Lancaster Canal.  Here, the route followed the canal tow path to its junction with the Millennium Ribble Link.  On the way a stop was made for Ice Creams and toilets at the UCL Sports complex.  Descending by some locks the route then crossed Tom Benson Way to follow the former Savick Brook (now the Millennium Ribble Link) and part of the Guild Wheel to Goodier’s Bridge.  Here, the route was across fields to reach Darkinson Lane at Lea Town and then by Lea Lane to the start point.  A very pleasant afternoon was had by all
