16  walkers set out from the lay-by at Cross of Greet Bridge, a good path leading to a pair of shooters cabins. Heading downward to Far Costy Clough to reach the remains of the former Jumbles Quarry. Here the walkers took out 2 minutes for Remembrance. We climbed up from the quarry to reach Cross of Greet road and a cattle grid, here we stopped for coffee. Onwards to a very steep incline following a wall upwards and eventually reaching Ravens Castle, here is the start of a boundary wall separating Lancashire and Yorkshire. We followed this wall along the high ridge heading to Cold Stone where we stopped for lunch. After our break we took another climb upwards to reach the trig at Bowland Knotts. Then our return route was clear and we headed for the road where a turn right onto this immediately found our footpath straight down from the road. At the end of this footpath we headed towards a prominent barn and the buildings of Catlow Farm. Onwards down to reach the Hodder and a footpath running parallel with the river taking us back to the start and our car park.
