On a miserable wet day it was Captain Pug-washes opportunity to show what a good leader he is.  He may have wished however, due to the forecast of all day rain, that no-one would appear.  To his surprise a dozen intrepid ramblers appeared at the start point and in order not to disappoint his apostles he braved the rain and led a shortened walk.  Being a cricketing man he first showed the group where Chipping Cricket Ground was before taking them on a gentle incline towards Parlick Pike via Lingey Hill and Fish House Lane.  Here, the weather worsened and so it was decided to take a direct route along a “Quiet Lane” back to Chipping.  Although the weather was miserable people had a smile on their face.  Normally there are pleasant views of the lovely Lancashire countryside but unfortunately the lovely Lancashire rain blotted out the views.
