On this rather damp day a dozen walkers passed through the famous gardens in the village of Waddington (on the recce local volunteer gardeners were active in the garden) on the way to Bradford Bridge which crosses the River Ribble.  Here the group stopped for two minutes to commemorate the Armistice.  Travelling downstream of the River Ribble, on the south east side, the route took in part of the Ribble Valley Sculpture Trail.  On arrival at Eadsford Bridge the party made use of a nearby picnic area for a lunch stop before re crossing the Ribble to head for Bashall Hall.  The route then continued to Rugglesmire (not Rugglesmice as shown on some maps) and then via Page Fold to return to Waddington.  Although there had been heavy rain for a few days prior to the walk the ground was reasonably firm.  However, where the route should have crossed a small tributary of Bashall Brook, it was found that because there was a torrent instead of a trickle, people had to be assisted over the brook via a single convenient stone a little downstream.  GR SD 706 438
