| Comments: | This walk has become an annual bluebell pilgrimage and was timed just right to see bluebells and many other wild spring flowers in bloom. Sixteen people took part in this circular walk that first headed east over the River Winster before turning south through Hag Wood to re-cross the River Winster and head west for Gate Crag. At this point the route took a gradual incline to reach a derelict farm at Pattison How before levelling out to Simpson Ground. The route then continued to Middle Tarn, Raven’s Barrow and Cartmell fell before dropping steeply to the start point. A good walk and the Lake District was at its best on a beautiful spring day. | ||
