| Comments: | This circular walk incorporated paved footpaths and field paths in the Higher Penwortham area. Sixteen people took part on a rather wet day. The youngest was seven years of age. Part of the route had been closed for a number of months to allow for flood alleviation tunnelling/work to take place. As part of the reinstatement work a new flight of steps as just been completed where path No 6-2 FP 46 joins the Ribble Way. To mark its completion the group held a mock opening ceremony. The group also visited St. Mary’s Church to see the remains of a Norman Castle Motte and later passed the site of St. Mary’s Well. |
