| Comments: | We walked round the flanks of Helmeth Hill to ascend "Caer Caradoc" ( Caradoc’s Fort) from its north-eastern end, ( according to David Hunter’s Cicerone Guide) "to make a glorious and long descent over the falling ridge". The footpath along the old Cardington Road took us past a tumulus and Robin’s Tump ( = "motte" or mound carrying a Norman fort). |
