Ignoring the weather forecast, four
walkers joined the leader for this walk. The day began promising,
and we managed to reach Barrow, dry and mist free. However, as we
made our way to the Barrow Door, the rain began and the mist
descended. Pressing on, we arrived at Outerside and attempted, with
little success, to find some shelter for our morning break. Leaving
Outerside we made our way, firstly to Sail, and then to Crag Hill.
In view of the worsening conditions we decided to shorten the walk
and descend into Coledale and back to the Braithwaite |
