The walk started with a short level
stretch before gradually climbing up to Healey Nab where fine views
of Lancashire and a little of Cheshire could be seen. Then the route
went towards Heapey Fold before turning north alongside Anglezarke
Reservoir. After a short break the group continued on to White
Coppice before returning to the Lock & Quay via Heapey Reservoirs.
On this lovely Spring day, birds could be heard singing, together
with a Woodpecker hammering at the trees. Although many of the wild
daffodils were dying back, new foliage was sprouting on the trees.
Bluebells were also on display in some of the woodland. It was a
busy day for other ramblers in the area too and many took advantage
of the peace and quiet of White Coppice for a lunch break.
Unfortunately the peace was shattered for a short while by two dozen
or so Fylde Ramblers. Another enjoyable walk. |
