Walk: Smithills Hall, Tippett House, Pendlebury's Farm, Chadwick's Close Farm, Holden's Farm, Adam Hill, Burnt Edge, Walker Fold Farm and the 63 steps
Start Point: Barrow bridge car park Grid Reference: SD 687 117
Distance: 7.5 miles Ascent: 1,000 feet
Time: 4 hours    
Weather: Fine with a cold wind and sunny intervals, apart from a brief snow flurry.
Comments: 19 walkers experienced as dry a walk as it is possible to have in this area. The path across Adam Hill was frozen hard.

We ended our walk as miners and quarrymen had done in the past, by descending the 63 steps
