Walk: Condor Green, Glasson Dock
Start Point: The Plough at Galgate Grid Reference: SD 482 555
Distance: 6 miles Ascent: 300 feet
Time: 3 hours    
Weather: Sunny and warm
Comments: A group of thirty six left The Plough and headed along the Lancaster Canal in the direction of Lancaster for a short distance, before leaving the canal and crossing fields to reach Condor Green. After a short break and a dance demonstration the group then used an old railway track to reach Glasson Dock. (Glasson has a small sea going dock and is on the Lune Estuary. The dock also has a canal branch to link it to the Lancaster Canal.) The return route to Galgate was via the Glasson Branch Canal and the main Lancaster Canal. There was hawthorn blossom in abundance and good views of the Lune Estuary. There were also a number of swans and herons to be seen on route in the vicinity of the canals and River Condor.
