Comments:	From the car park the party of 11 set off following the Lancashire coastal path across the marsh land over to Jenny Browns point. We passed a chimney on the beach which dates back to 1700's and is linked to copper smelting in days long gone. We then followed the road in the direction of Silverdale passing the National Trust reserve at Jack Scout and then on to the path above the forested crags of Scout Wood. Emerging from the woods we took a short break in Silverdale Green before continuing on, following the footpath past Burton Well and across a wet field towards and across Silverdale Golf Course. Fortunately there were not many golfers and we managed to navigate across the lush fairways without incident. Passing the converted station house at Silverdale station, we took a comfort break courtesy of the RSPB at the reserve cafe. The route then took us back through the marshlands following the bridle path which ran across the moss amongst the reed beds and numerous bird watchers making the most of the great weather. Onward to Leighton Hall and lunch at the top of the hill above the grand residence. The visibility was good and views were abundant over Morecombe Bay, Silverdale and over to Grange. We were making good progress as we headed to Warton Crag stopping briefly to admire the views from the summit and an afternoon break by the summit beacon. A short trek back to the car park via Crag Foot finished a good day out.
