Walk: Tongue Gill, Brackenwife Knotts, Great Rigg, Heron Pike, Lord Crag, Nab Scar, Pelter Bridge, Rydal Water, Grasmere

Distance: 11 miles Ascent: 3,000 feet
Time: 6.25 hours    
Weather: Sunny and mild
Comments: The walk started with a steep climb over Brackenwife Knotts and on to Great Rigg. By this time some of us were regretting the winter gear as the day turned out to be milder than expected with sunshine for most of the day. Heading back down the west arm of the Fairfield Horseshoe we found the perfect spot for lunch on Lord Crag. After checking out the location of Nab Scar we continued down to Rydal and decided to head towards Pelter Bridge instead of taking the Coffin Route. We then skirted Rydal Water and Grasmere before making our way back to the car.
