winds and spells of heavy drizzle (particularly in the morning). |
| Comments: |
Eight walkers set off from Wet Sleddale
for this walk. The route followed the southern edge of the reservoir
before climbing behind Sleddale Hall. We then proceeded to find the
driest route across Swindale Common before descending into Swindale
by Gouthercrag Gill. At this point we lost Kath and Phil who decided
to return by an alternative route whilst the rest of the group
continued to Swindale Head. From here we followed the Old Corpse
Road for a time before turning south to climb Selside End to
Selside. After a pause for lunch we continued on to Arklecrag Pike
and Branstree. Leaving Branstree we descended into Mosedale to
return to the cars. |
