A nice easy walk along the canal towpath
and quiet country lanes. The walk had to be diverted because of very
muddy conditions near to a stile. It was so bad the Local Authority
found it necessary to close the path. The diversion added a mile or
so to the intended route. The absence of stiles was something of a
rarity. On the bright side it was nice to see that swallows have
returned to Salwick and that some cows had been released on to fresh
grass. Some of the trees were showing a hint of green and there was
a smell of Spring in the air. |
