The forecast rain started at
the time of departure and continued all day. Visibility from vantage
points was nil. |

The weather people got it right this
time and the promised rain started to fall promptly at 10:15 am.
However, this didn't stop eighteen people joining the leader on this
circular walk. Crossing the River Ribble the route went over In Moor
and passed through Feizor before ascending Giggleswick Scar where
the damp group took a break for lunch. On a good day there are
splendid views from Schoolboy Tower (a cairn on Giggleswick Scar).
Today there was zilch! Dropping down from the scar the group then
joined the Ribble Way and headed north alongside the River Ribble to
return to Stainforth. The weather deteriorated on the return and the
rain got wetter, even so the hardy group appeared to enjoy the walk
and look forward to repeating it on a better day. |
