Walk: Kelbrook, Heads House, Harden Clough, Scald Bank, Black Lane Ends, Piked Edge, Copy House, Hague, Great Hague.
Start Point: Salterforth Canal CP Grid Ref: SD 887 453
Distance: 7.5 miles Ascent: 950 feet
Time: 4 hours    
Weather: Showers at the start soon merged into continuous rain which continued throughout the walk. Clouds on the moor tops above Scald Bank restricted visibility
Comments: 11 walkers. We crossed the disused former Colne, Earby and Skipton Railway line twice and walked close to the spur to Barnoldswick. We walked on parts of the Pendle Way and the Kelbrook Moor Circular walk and saw large flock of lapwings (peewits) in the meadows between the A56 and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal. No photographs from the day but some from the 2 reccies. The rain did not discourage the continuous firing at the Kelbrook Shooting School on the edge of Kelbrook Moor!

When we did the walk most of these Alpacas seen on Reccie 1 had made themselves scarce

 

Sadly on the walk we were unable to see this view of Pendle (Reccie 1)

 

Kelbrook Lodge is the sight for the shooting school (Reccie 1)

 

The old boundary of the County of Palatine is marked on both the A56 and the canal (Reccie 2)
