Walk: Burtness Wood, High Stile, Red Pike, Scale Force
Start Point: Car Park by Fish Inn, Buttermere Grid Reference: NY 173 169
Distance: 7.6 miles Ascent: 2,500 feet
Time: 6.45 hours    
Weather: Dry and sunny
Comments: Missed the stile out of Burtness Wood, possibly due to changes in the woodland and woodland paths. Path to right of Burtness Comb to the north east ridge of High Stile is better defined than as described in older guide books. Path down to Scale Force has been improved in parts but is still awkward in places.
