18 walkers set off from the Picnic site
to cross the road at The Stork PH & continue down a lane to a minor
road to Berry’s farm. Here we started to cross fields to the Glasson
Branch of the Lancaster Canal. At the Junction with the main
Lancaster Canal we turned north to pass the Galgate Marina & on
under Ellel Hall bridge leaving the canal to go through Forerigg
Wood, where a tricky stile has been replaced by a kissing gate.
After a short climb up a hilly field it was down to another new gate
which replaced an even more tricky stile, to start the walk back via
Parkside farm & Websters farm, retracing our steps along the lane &
back to the Picnic site. A pleasant walk in perfect weather. |
