You can plan the walk but you can’t plan
the weather as the five members who joined me on this walk found
out. The walk began as planned with an ascent of Hard Knott en route
to Lingcove Beck. Unfortunately, due to the amount of water in the
beck it was impossible to continue with the planned walk and a
substitute was hastily arranged. This involved descending to
Lingcove Bridge where we could safely cross and then climbing Esk
Pike and return through Moasdale. Due to the wet weather, the ground
was saturated and made for heavy going. I think the cars were a
welcome sight to all at the end of this walk. |
