Comments:	26 walkers accompanied the leader 'Rob' on what was a perfect day. The overnight frost had hardened the ground sufficiently to keep away some of the mud and the sunshine and clear air ensured good views all day. Setting off up Snow Hill Lane we were crossing the M6 bridge when a car stopped. The occupant turned out to be the owner of a newly refurbished cafe called 'The Apple Store' further up the lane on the Wyresdale estate. Obviously he had an eye for business as he invited the group up there after the walk (rumour has it that a discount was mentioned!). Proceeding up the lane to the estate entrance and passing signs for the aforementioned tea room we made our way up and over Nicky Nook before descending towards Grizedale reservoir. Turning left onto the track at the foot of the hill it was up to Fell End Farm and then on to Grizedale Bridge. A short road walk then took us on past the radio masts on Barnacre Moor to return to Grizedale Brook via Burns farm. From here a short climb to Tithe Barn Lane and a woodland path beside Tithe Barn Brook took us back to Snow Hill lane and the cars. Several members drove up to the cafe where they enjoyed some very tasty homemade cakes and generous amounts of tea sitting outside in the tranquil woodland surroundings of the Wyresdale estate (See photographs for pictures of 'The Apple Store cafe' and the house).
