Again the six who set off had a day's
walking in very disappointing weather conditions for this time of
year. That said the day started and finished with the sort of
weather we should be getting with bright sunny sky and clear views.
Unfortunately by the time we had climbed up to Ward’s Stone the mist
was rolling in fast and we had already walked through a couple of
light showers, but it was the hailstones the size of marbles hitting
our heads that made us all wonder what on earth is happening to our
summer these days. We quickly moved on over Grit Fell where we
stopped for lunch. It was here where we were hit by a thunderstorm
and torrential rain, so we quickly finished our lunch and moved on
to Clougha Pike where again the great views from here where all lost
due to the cloud and mist that surrounded us. |
