| Comments: | The walk was to have taken place early in May. Unfortunately moor land fires prevented this. Meals were booked at The Bay Horse at Anderton before driving to the start point. Thirty people took part in the ramble. Although it was overcast there was no rain and it was dry under foot. The party walked north along the wooded slopes on the perimeter of Anglezarke Reservoir before turning east to Manor House. Here two men and a young lad were marking and treating young lambs. Now on open moor land, Winter Hill with its communication masts, was in full view as were various reservoirs. The leader took her party to a memorial at Lead Mine Clough before descending to Yarrow Reservoir and then Rivington. After viewing some “Stocks” at Rivington the group returned to the car park via a path on the east of Rivington Reservoir. Although fire was raging on the moors about a month ago there was no obvious sign of damage on this particular walk. Returning to The Bay Horse the party enjoyed a good meal.
