| Comments: | With rain forecast we all donned our wet gear and off we marched through Limefitt caravan park and headed for Troutbeck park. With our wet gear now removed, due to the lack of rain, we climbed the edge of Troutbeck tongue. Our route then took us further into the valley and into the rain and mist, wet gear on again. With little in the way of paths to follow we steadily climbed the grassy slopes to Threshthwaite Mouth. With visibility done to around 50 feet we completed our climb up the scree slopes to Thornthwaite Crag. After a bite to eat for lunch, we made a unanimous decision to leave the tops and miss out Froswick, Ill Bell and Yoke and head for home, only leaving the mist at around 1200`. With a steady march back to the cars, the weather did, as it often does, start to clear. | ||
