| Comments: | 12 members + 1 leader set off through Eaves Woods and came out where we intended at Arnside Tower, although the route was not exactly as planned! Leader's secret. From there we made our way via Heathwaite, S.W. flank of Arnside Knott & Copridding Woods to the Kent Estuary. Before we reached the prom at Arnside it was uphill to the N.E. side of the Knott and down to South side of Arnside and the Cemetery, where we stopped for lunch. From there it was downhill to Black Dyke and a flat return through the fields and Gait Barrows Nature Reserve back to Eaves Wood CP. There was a new permissive path, not shown on the map, round Challan Hall that cut out going to the road and back again. I think I will call this walk, ‘Arnside Knott – nearly’. | ||
